- It took 22 years to go from the first demonstration of the Delta Clipper Experimental program to SpaceX's Falcon 9 retrieval of its stage after having pushed the second stage into orbit yesterday.
- The first transistor was built 68 years ago.
- Yesterday was the 120th birthday of the first X-Ray photo of a hand
- in five days, it will also be the 120th birthday of the first commercial showing of a movie.
For different reasons, the winter break/solstice is a good thing for discoveries and momentous firsts.
