A lost Opportunity ?

Now that Spirit is gone, we are all relying on Opportunity to get photographs of Mars from the ground. Except, when some packets are lost. In that case, well, Opportunity gets full 2001 monolith on us as one can see from today's shots here and here.



Readers of this blog can certainly imagine what would have happened if a low power compressive sensing encoding such as the one used on PACS/Herschel had been used instead....
