Hi Igor,
May I ask you to post the following multiple PhD position announcement on nuit-blanche?
PhD positions are available with BASP at EPFL: http://people.epfl.ch/yves.wiaux/research
Thanks a lot in advance
Cheers
Yves
Thanks Yves. From the page:
BASP is currently hiring
Ph.D. positions: Ph.D. positions are available with the Biomedical and Astronomical Signal Processing (BASP) group. A first position is available to start in June 2013.
The projects: BASP aims to provide significant advances for compressive imaging in astronomy and medicine. Its ambitious goal is to re-invent interferometric imaging in astronomy and magnetic resonance imaging in medicine, respectively enabling necessary paradigm shifts towards high resolution and fast acquisition. The new image acquisition and reconstruction techniques to be developed in the context of the theory of compressive sampling will be validated on simulated and real data, thus opening new windows on our universe, as well as on medical science and clinical diagnosis. Our multi-disciplinary approach is key to establishing such new paradigms. The open positions are at the core of this ambitious initiative.
Keywords: advanced signal processing, sparsity, wavelets, compressive sampling, image reconstruction, signal processing on non-Euclidean manifolds, convex/nonconvex optimisation, Bayesian inference, interferometric imaging in astronomy, magnetic resonance imaging in medicine.
International collaboration: the projects rely on a collaboration between EPFL and Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh, as well as the University of Edinburgh.
Candidates profile: we are looking for outstanding students and researchers with international profile from across electrical engineering, physics and mathematics to join a dynamic multi-disciplinary research team.
Application deadline and process: there is no formal deadline for application. Candidates will be considered until all positions are filled. Interested candidates should send their application file (incl. motivation letter, CV, list of publications, and names of 3 references) directly to me by email. Do not hesitate to contact me for further information prior to a formal application.
