Don't tell my mom I blog, she thinks I'm a used car salesman

I was recently asked to share some thoughts on successful blogging especially in the scientific realm. I really don't know if Nuit Blanche fits the bill but there is one thing that is probably more important than blogging per se. It is the numerous public and high quality discussions that are taking place in the following groups:

• Gaussian Belief Propagation: Theory and Practice with 76 members
• The Google+ Community Compressive Sensing, RandNLA, Matrix Factorization Defeating the Data Tsunami, one algorithm at a time. and post there ! with 147 members **New**
• The CompressiveSensing subreddit with 63 users.
• Robust Mathematical Modeling / Modélisation Mathématique Robuste with 61 members
• or in the comments of this blog. 

Be a good friend and colleague, invite others to be part of these discussions.
