Alejandro pointed out to me the recent book from David McKay on sustainable energy. I haven't read the whole book but all the things he says on sustainability and Nuclear power are right on. Since David is not an insider, read work/has worked/worked for a nuclear utility or government entity dedicated to the use of nuclear materials, I'd say he is a pretty good source to rely on. What's disconcerting is that nobody in our political landscape can relate to enabling a power source beyond a five year schedule. The book is here. It is also available from the Amazon - Nuit Blanche Bookstore (Kindle version). Maybe David's new position as Chief Scientific Advisor to the Department of Energy and Climate Change will change some of that (at least in the U.K.)
I find it "interesting" that you choose to post the Amazon link to McKay's book (with your reference number) instead of the direct link to the book.
ReplyDeleteIn the text, one can clearly read:

check the link used for "here".
